Rambha says Rajinikanth ‘acted angry’ when she hugged Salman Khan on sets of Arunachalam: ‘I started crying’

“In North, hugging each other is a part of the culture. As we hugged, Rajini Sir was sitting, watching it all. Later, after Salman left, Rajini Sir looked angry and there was something off on the sets. He was talking furiously to everyone, and people kept looking at me. I was wondering what did I do. Then the cameraman came to me and asked ‘Why did you do this? Rajini Sir is angry with you.’ I didn’t have a clue what was wrong. The whole set is like this (pranksters). I was told that Rajini Sir would not act with me. I started crying.”

She added, “Then Rajini sir rushed to me and consoled me. Then he brought everyone on the sets and lined them up and asked, ‘How did she welcome Salman Khan? How did she run to him?’ He started to mimic me. I have never seen him like that. And he then asked them, ‘How does she greet us every day? You just say ‘Hi, sir’, and go sit and read a novel here. So, you respect North people, and South people are so little for you is it?’ He made so many galattas. Sundar C sir started to pour oil on fire and sided with Rajini sir as well.”

Recounting another incident, Rambha said, “Once on the sets of Arunachalam, suddenly the light were turned off, and someone tapped me, and I screamed. It was just a touch and I screamed. Then when the lights came on, the whole discussion on the set was about who touched Rambha. The whole set came together and all… it was Rajini sir. He keeps doing things like this.

Ramabha also revealed that Rajinikanth used to pull their chair behind and indulge in such pranks on the sets. “Of course, he wouldn’t hurt us. He will make sure of that,” she added.

Though Rambha was sharing her experience as a memorable incident, a set of people on social media criticized Rajinikanth for crossing the line. On Twitter user wrote, “40+ aged Rajinikanth turned off all the lights at the set and touched actress Rambha without her consent. Rambha says she was horrified & screamed when the incident happened. Such a disgusting old creep!” Another wrote, “Thank you actress Rambha for funnily exposing Rajini…but we can feel your pain (Sic).”

On the other hand, Rajinikanth fans defended the video saying it was in a way to show Rajinikanth in a bad light. They also claimed that it was all a prank, as stated by Rambha.
