Ponniyin Selvan 2 actor Vikram says he shares ‘special friendship’ with Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai: ‘Whenever we get time, we chill’

Actor Vikram, who will be seen with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan 2, is confident that the audience loves to see his on-screen pairing with the actress.

Tamil actor Vikram and Bollywood star Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will once again share screen space in Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan 2. The two have earlier shared screen space in Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan 1 and Raavan. Vikram is confident that the audience loves to see his on-screen pairing with Aishwarya.

During an interview, while promoting Ponniyin Selvan 2, Vikram said that he and Aishwarya are ‘really good friends’. Not just her, the Tamil star is also on good terms with her husband Abhishek Bachchan, her daughter Aaradhya Bachchan, and Amitabh Bachchan too.

“She (Aishwarya) is someone who takes her job very seriously. I share a very very special friendship with Abhishek Bachchan, Aaradhya and Aishwarya. And, of course, Mr Bachchan (Amitabh Bachchan) … it’s a nice relationship I have with them. It’s been about work, but otherwise whenever we get time, we chill,” Vikram told NDTV.

Earlier too Vikram has talked fondly about Aishwarya Rai. During the promotion of Ponniyin Selvan 1 in Delhi, he had said, “All our fans keep saying it’s so nice to see you guys together, but the only thing is, I never get her (Aishwarya) in the movies.” The actor also commended Aishwarya’s dancing skills and said, “The only time I have forgotten myself in a shot is when I saw her dance. It is music in motion. She dances so beautifully.”

Impressed with her beauty and grace, Vikram then added, “It’s so very difficult being her. She is always under a microscope. She is constantly being watched. She always needs to be perfect, and let me tell you, she has done it in style.”

Ponniyin Selvan 2 will release in theatres on April 28. It stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Vikram, Sobhita Dhulipala, Trisha Krishnan, Jayam Ravi and Karthi among others in pivotal roles.
