Osaka Tamil International Film Festival Awards: Vijay, Kangana Ranaut named best actors; Sarpatta Parambarai wins big

The OTIFF awards celebrated outstanding performances in films released in 2021. While Sarpatta Parambarai bagged the award for Best Film, Pa Ranjith was declared Best Director for the period sports drama.

Osaka Tamil International Film Festival Awards: Vijay, Kangana Ranaut named best actors; Sarpatta Parambarai wins big

Vijay and Kangana Ranaut have been honoured with the awards of Best Actor and Best Actress, respectively, at the Osaka Tamil International Film Festival (OTIFF) in Japan. The awards celebrated outstanding performances in films released in 2021. Vijay’s acting in Master and Kangana’s performance in Thalaivii earned them the coveted titles.

Following the win, Kangana took to Instagram and wrote, “Thank you for this honour… Thalaivii is indeed a piece of my heart… many thanks for this acknowledgement.”

While Sarpatta Parambarai bagged the award for Best Film, Pa Ranjith was declared Best Director for the period sports drama.

While Yuvan Sankar Raja bagged the Best Music Director award for Maanaadu, Theni Eswar won the Best Director of Photography award (Karnan). Venkat Prabhu, meanwhile, took home the Best Screenplay Writer award (Maanaadu).

Best Comedian: Redin Kingsley (Doctor)

Best Child Artist: Zaara Vineet (Doctor)

Best Villain: Vijay Sethupathi (Master)

Best Editor: Pravin KL (Maanaadu)

Best Stunt Director: Dillip Subbarayan (Sulthan)

Best Art Director: Tha Ramalingam (Sarpatta Parambarai)

Best VFX team: Nxgen Media (Teddy)

Best Sound Designer: T Uday Kumar (Aranmanai 3)
