Becoming an overnight national sensation may not be an overly arduous endeavour. However, sustaining that title for years and consistently igniting excitement among people with each announcement of an upcoming film requires a unique and remarkable talent. Tamil director Lokesh Kanagaraj has consistently demonstrated his immense potential in achieving this feat time and again. The visionary director who brought the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU) into existence has now made an announcement that he may retire from the world of filmmaking altogether after directing a total of 10 films. In an interview with SS Music, Kangaraj said: "I don't have any long-term plans. Nor do I want to hold on to this place for a long time. When I entered the cinematic realm, all I wanted to do was try it out. That's why I made short films. When I realised that I was able to resonate with people, I made it my profession. I will do 10 films and I will quit." Thanking his producers and stars for letting him create a cinematic universe, Kangaraj pointed out: "It's not a very easy task. It involves a lot of complications. I am in no hurry. I want to handle this very responsibly and make good movies." Providing a glimpse of how well his upcoming film Leo's works are progressing, Kanagaraj said: "It's going well. We have been shooting non-stop and it's making fruitful results." Asserting that he was really excited about helming another Vijay film, Kanagaraj said: "I knew we were going to join forces again while winding up Master. I am very comfortable with Thalapathy Vijay. Even if the scene we are filming is very intense, the entire set would be very relaxed." Other than Vijay, Leo also stars Trisha, Sanjay Dutt, Gautam Menon, Mysskin, and Mansoor Ali Khan in important roles. Anirudh Ravichander is composing the music for the movie. The filmmaker also said that he doesn't let himself think that he has come so far. "I am scared that thinking that way will make me stagnant. I am really scared of failure. Since I have a team of artists with me, the responsibility is very high."
