Rajinikanth exudes vintage vibe in new Lal Salaam poster; makers announce release date

Rajinikanth fans are in for a treat as the makers of his upcoming film, Lal Salaam, shared an update on the film’s release date on Sunday. They also shared a new poster of the film, featuring Thalaiva with Vishnu Vishal. The makers revealed that the film will release on Pongal in January 2024.

The new poster, shared by Lyca Productions, the banner backing Lal Salaam, exudes vintage vibes as it shows Rajinikanth and Vishnu Vishal with a tense expression. Rajinikanth is also seen standing in front of a vintage car with an old tomb building in the background.

While sharing the poster, the production company wrote on X, “LAL SALAAM to hit 🏏 screens on PONGAL 2024.”

To build anticipation among fans, the makers first shared a poster of the film, declaring that they would serve the Thalaivar Feast at 2 pm. The poster depicted an old vintage car passing through a crowd, with onlookers trying to catch a glimpse of the person inside the car. The post read, “It’s gonna be Double Treat for #Thalaivar fans today! Wait till 2PM as we get ready to serve #ThalaivarFeast from the house of #LalSalaam.”

Lal Salaam will reportedly feature Rajinikanth in an extended cameo. The film is directed by Rajinikanth’s daughter, Aishwarya. Earlier, the makers revealed the first look of the actor as Moideen Bhai from the film. The caption read, “Everyone’s favourite BHAI is back in Mumbai 📍 Make way for #Thalaivar 😎 SuperStar 🌟 #Rajinikanth as #MoideenBhai in #LalSalaam 🫡.”

The film stars actors Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth in lead roles and the music is composed by AR Rahman. Former cricketer Kapil Dev also have a cameo appearance in the film. Aishwarya is returning to feature film direction eight years after Vai Raja Vai.

Rajinikanth was last seen in director Nelson Dilipkumar’s Jailer, which turned out to be a huge box-office success.
