KGF 2, Ponniyin Selvan, Thiruchitrambalam win National Awards: Yash, Vikram and Dhanush share wishes
With netizens congratulating the deserving winners at the 70th National Awards, stars like Vikram, Dhanush, and Yash too joined the bandwagon

It was the South brigade that took home most of the top honours at the recently announced National Awards for the films certified in 2022. While KGF 2 and Kantara were the big winners from Kannada cinema, Ponniyin Selvan Part 1 and Thiruchitrambalam won a handful of awards from Tamil cinema. Aattam and Saudi Vellakka became the top winners from Malayalam cinema. With netizens congratulating the deserving winners, stars like Vikram, Dhanush, and Yash too joined the bandwagon.
Vikram, who played Aditya Karikalan in Ponniyin Selvan Part 1, and is being hyped up for sweeping all the awards for his performance in Part 2, said, “Blessed that PS1 is crowned with national recognition propelled with the love of the audience. Tamil history, literature, culture & cinema marching triumphantly together from the past to the present!! Congratulations Mani (Ratnam) Sir, Lyca Productions, AR Rahman and Ravi Varman.” The film also won the Best Sound Design award for Anand Krishnamoorthy.
Congratulating all the “well-deserved winners” of this edition of the National Awards, Dhanush, who starred in Thiruchitrambalam, had a separate post for his Raayan music director AR Rahman. “Congratulations, AR Rahman sir. This feel so special,” said the man of few posts, who went on to write one more post for his Thiruchitrambalam co-star Nithya Menen, who won the National Award for Best Actress for the film.
“Congratulations team Thiruchitrambalam. It’s a personal win for me that Nithya Menen as Shobana has won the National award. Big congrats to Jaani master and Satish master. It’s a great day for the team,” said the two-time Best Actor winner.

Understanding the magnitude of KGF 2 and Kantara’s win for Kannada cinema, Yash wrote “Heartiest congratulations to all the winners of the National Awards. A special shoutout to our very own Rishab Shetty, Vijay Kiragandur, Prashanth Neel, and the entire Hombale Films team for the well-deserved recognition for Kantara and KGF 2. Here’s to many more heights. This is indeed Kannada cinema’s shining moment on the national stage.”
