Jailer box office collection Day 13: Rajinikanth’s film sees gradual fall; earns Rs 4.73 cr
Jailer box office collection Day 13: On Tuesday, Nelson Dilipkumar's Rajinikanth-starrer Jailer garnered around Rs 4.73 crore (nett), while Sunny Deol's Gadar 2, its main competitor, achieved a noteworthy figure of Rs 11.50 crore.

Following a high-octane theatrical run, Nelson Dilipkumar’s Rajinikanth-starrer, Jailer has started experiencing a gradual slowdown in its box office performance.
On Tuesday, the Tamil actioner garnered around Rs 4.73 crore (nett) in earnings, according to early estimates, shared by industry tracker Sacnilk. This marks a 17.02 per cent decrease compared to its Monday earnings of Rs 5.7 crore. With this, the nett domestic earnings of Jailer reached Rs 292.03 crore, and its India gross climbed to Rs 336.9 crore.
During the day, the Tamil actioner witnessed an overall 21.98 per cent Tamil occupancy. Initially, during the morning shows, the movie saw a 14.24 per cent occupancy within the Tamil market. However, as the day unfolded, the percentages experienced a marginal increase: rising to 20.35 per cent during the afternoon shows and reaching 26.67 per cent during the evening and night shows.
With an additional Rs 180 crore earned overseas, the global box office collection of Jailer has surged to an impressive Rs 516.9 crore. The film is expected to earn Rs 4.54 crore on Wednesday, which marks its 14th day of release.
In contrast, Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2, the main competitor to Jailer at the box office, achieved a noteworthy figure of Rs 11.50 crore on Tuesday, demonstrating its strong theatrical performance even during weekdays. The film entered the Rs 400 cr club on Tuesday.
Jailer aims for the title of ‘highest-grossing Tamil film of all time’
After the Nelson Dilipkumar directorial officially crossed the Rs 500 crore mark worldwide, surpassing the total collection of Mani Ratnam’s epic historical action movie, Ponniyin Selvan: I, which earned Rs 488.36 crore during its entire run, the only thing standing between Jailer and the title of the “highest-grossing Tamil film of all time” is S Shankar’s science-fantasy action film, 2.0 (2018), featuring Rajinikanth himself.
According to Sacnilk, 2.0 amassed a global box office collection of Rs 723.30 crore during its theatrical run.
Jailer has Rajinikanth essaying a man out to avenge the death of his son, who is a cop. The film has Mohanlal, Shivarajkumar and Jackie Shroff in important cameos. The action-packed entertainer also stars Priyanka Mohan, Tamannaah Bhatia, Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Vasanth Ravi and Vinayakan.
Pointing out that Rajinikanth and Nelson Dilipkumar rediscover the alchemy of a good masala film with Jailer, The Indian Express’ Kirubhakar Purushothaman wrote in his review of the film: “Jailer is Rajinikanth’s version of Kamal Haasan’s Vikram, but with a twist. Saying that doesn’t take away anything from this fun-filled entertainer.”
