Junior NTR is roaring at the box office with his latest release Jai Lava Kusa. The film, which continues to maintain its stronghold at the theaters, has raked in a total of Rs 92 crore during its first weekend. Jai Lava Kusa which released in 4000 screens across the world was predicted to cross the Rs 100 crore mark in its opening weekend after receiving positive reviews. However, according to the numbers tweeted by trade analyst Ramesh Bala, the film seems to have fallen short of the magical number by Rs 8 crores.
Jai Lava Kusa was declared a sensational blockbuster by its makers, who celebrated the film’s success on Monday in Hyderabad. The film has grossed around Rs 30 crores at non-Telugu earning a significant Rs 62 crore in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. It is no surprise considering the strong opening the film had at the box office. Elated at the box office response, Jr NTR had tweeted, “All this love for #JaiLavaKusa is deeply satisfying. As an actor, can’t ask for anything better. A big thank you from team JLK to everyone”.
The film is Jr NTR’s first collaboration with his actor-producer brother Kalyan Ram, who has produced the film under his home production NTR Arts banner. As a story that revolves around brothers and familial relationships, Jr NTR had said that the film was a gift to his family from the brothers.
Jai Lava Kusa is directed by KS Ravindra aka Bobby and has Raashi Khanna and Nivetha Thomas as female leads.
