The much-anticipated first single from Kamal Haasan and Shankar’s magnum opus Indian 2 has finally been unveiled. Titled Paaraa, this track marks a significant collaboration between music maestro Anirudh Ravichander, director Shankar, lyricist Pa Vijay, and Kamal Haasan. The song has already begun to captivate audiences with its potent anti-colonial theme.

Paaraa is a stirring call to action, reminiscent of the patriotism that Kamal Haasan’s character embodied in the original Indian film. The track is designed to evoke a sense of national pride and resistance against colonial oppression, which is the theme of the film. Anirudh Ravichander’s composition for Paaraa combines traditional Indian musical elements with a modern cinematic sound, a typical trait of his compositions.

Unlike most lyrical videos, we don’t get visuals in Paaraa as Shankar loves to guard his film till its release. It is also speculated the song is for the father of Senapathy as Indian 2 is speculated to explore the childhood of the vigilante during colonial rule. We instead get CGI-generated visuals, which show a one-man army taking down a huge fleet of British soldiers.

The song has been crooned by Anirudh Ravichander and Shruthika Samudhrala. Apart from the vigilant lyrics, the song also has a small portion of romance, which is reminiscent of the songs in the first part of the film.
