Former Tamil Nadu minister Azhagiri’s son Durai Dayanidhi admitted to Apollo: reports
Durai Dayanidhi is a Tamil film producer who made blockbuster films like Mankatha under his banner Cloud 9.
Durai Dayanidi suffered from stroke, according to reportsProducer Durai Dayanidhi aka Dayanidhi Azhagiri, the son of former Tamil Nadu state minister MK Azhagiri and grandson of former TN CM M Karunanidhi, fell unconscious at his home in Chennai on Thursday morning. He was rushed to Chennai Apollo Hospital for treatment.
According to reports, Durai suffered from a stroke. Reports claim the 36-year-old producer underwent surgery and six blocks were removed. His uncle Chief Minister MK Stalin had paid a visit to Chennai Apollo, according to a source close to the hospital.
While the hospital is yet to come out with an official statement regarding the speculations, it is said that Durai is kept under intensive care and observed by medical professionals.
Durai Dayanidhi founded Cloud 9 Movies in 2008 and first distributed Gautham Menon’s hit film Vaaranam Aayiram (2008). The production house turned a lot of heads with its first full-fledged venture, Tamzh Padam (2010), a parody starring Shiva.
Over the years, the banner gained a good reputation by making quality films like Thoonga Nagaram, and Ajith’s Mankatha.
However, due to reasons unknown, the production house stopped functioning in 2014 and has been defunct ever since.
Durai Dayanidhi was away from the limelight for the past several years, and he has now made the headline for an unfortunate reason.
Ever since his father MK Azhagiri was ousted from DMK as a party member and secretary in January 2014, Durai has also been away from the media’s gaze. It is said that Azhagiri and Stalin had a fallout as the latter became the political successor of their father.
