Close on the heels of the announcement of the separation between Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman and Saira Banu, another divorce in Tamil cinema has come to light. Although actor-filmmaker Dhanush had already announced his separation from filmmaker Aishwarya Rajinikanth, there were speculations about them moving past their differences. However, it has now been confirmed that the former couple are indeed heading for a separation. The speculation about their patching up became news because Dhanush and Aishwarya had missed three court hearings since officially filing for divorce in 2022. This lead to murmurs that the estranged couple were getting back together. However, in a hearing today, both Aishwarya and Dhanush appeared in the court, and expressed their intention to be legally separated. It was then announced by the court that the final verdict on this appeal would be given on November 27.
