Bigg Boss Tamil 7 Launch Live Updates: Bigg Boss Tamil Season 7 began on October 1 with a novel concept of two houses. Show’s host Kamal Haasan returns to host for the seventh time. Cool Suresh, Poornima Ravi, Raveena Daha, Pradeep Antony, Nixen, Vinusha Devi, Mani Chandra, Akshaya Udayakumar, Jovika Vijayakumar, Aishu, Vishnu Vijay, Maya Krishnan, Saravana Vikram, Yugendran, Vichitra, Bava Chelladurai, Ananya Rao and Vijay Varma entered the show as contestants.
Bigg Boss Tamil continues to be the most-watched Tamil reality show despite an evident drop in viewership and the hype, but the fan following it enjoys is also significantly high. High enough that the makers have decided to have not just one but two houses this season.
Now, as Bigg Boss Tamil 7 begins, fans want to find out how the two houses are going to be put to use. Will there be levels? Or will the housemates be shifted between the two? Will the rules in the two houses be different? Will there be two big bosses? And, on top of it all, there’s a lot of anticipation to know who will be part of the competition.
Last season, ended with Mohammed Azeem, a TV actor, winning the show. On the other hand, Vikraman, loved for his social activism, ended up as the runner-up. The season, like all editions, was full of controversies. Even the final verdict left fans divided. Bigg Boss Tamil Season 6 lasted for about 105 days, with 21 contestants participating in it. Shivin, Asal Kolaaru, ADK, Dhanalakshmi, Amudhavanan, and Myna Nandini were some other contestants who made a mark last time.

When everyone tried to retire for the day, Bigg Boss asked the contestants to come back to the living area. With that, the first episode of Bigg Boss Season 7 came to a close.
Kamal Haasan provided all the contestants with a red scarf. "If someone feels they are wronged in the house, they can make use of this flag. When I meet you all next weekend, you can uphold it and express your dissent. I will address the issue first. It is a power I am giving you. You can also use it in support of your friends," Kamal instructed the contestants.
Dancer and actor Vijay Varma, who works in the Tamil and Telugu film industries, is the new entrant and the default captain of Bigg Boss Tamil 7. He is also going to remain the captain as he is the last entrant inside the house today, according to Kamal Haasan.
Vishnu Vijay asked Ananya to ask Yugendra how many girl contestants are in the house as a challenge. Yugendran fails to answer. However, the debate continued with Yugendran promising to do better, but both couldn't decide on time. Bigg Boss announces the next entrant will become the captain.
Ananya Rao and her twin sister Apoorva are pretty popular on Instagram for their dance videos. Anany later was part of the Netlfix reality show In Real Love, which had only a limited following. She is the latest to enter Bigg Boss Tamil 7.
Finally, someone gave us a good moment with this captaincy game. When Chelladurai was expected put out to fight for the captaincy, he ended the debate by telling Yugnedran, "You look like an old person. I am leaving the captaincy to you." Laughter ensued in the house.
Kamal Haasan gives a detailed introduction to Bava Chelldadurai. Kamal, in one of the previous seasons, recommended a list of books. One of Bava Chelladurai's books was also a part of the list. Kamal requested Chelladurai to recommend a book to the audience, and the writer asked everyone to read Chidambara Ninaivugal, the Tamil version of the Malayalam book by Balachandran Chullikkad.
Vichitra delayed the debate and spent more time meeting with other contestants. Finally, she fought it out with Yugendran but wasn't convincing. Captaincy still rests with Yugendran.
Actress Vichitra, a popular glamourous actress in the 90s, returned to the limelight with her YouTube videos recently. "You all know me. I have been misjudged because of my looks, but I am a different person. I am a sensitive person. I will forgive people who talk ill of me behind my back, but I don't forget it," she said. Vichitra is known for her roles in Sathyaraj's Amaidhi Padai and Rajinikanth's Muthu.
Yugendran demanded Vishnu Viajy sing a song, and the latter did a bad job of it. Though Vishnu tried hard to hold on to the power, he couldn't be aggressive given the fame and age of the singer. Yugendran didn't back out of the fight, and Vishnu ended up letting it go. Yugendran holds the Bigg Boss Tamil 7 captaincy now.
Yugendran, the popular singer and son of iconic singer Malaysia Vasudevan, entered Bigg Boss Tamil 7 started off with a song of Azhagae Azhagu song from Kamal Haasan's Raaja Paravai. He followed it up with SP Balasubrahmanyam's Enna Satham song from Punnagai Mannan. He ended it with a peppy song Vechaalum from Kamal's Michael Madana Kamarajan.
After a brief debate, Vishnu retains the captaincy as Saravana Vikram fails to put out a fight. It looked like he didn't care.
Saravana Vikram, who played one of the lead roles in Pandian Stores, entered the show with his real and reel families (Pandian Stores cast members). Vikram revealed that he ended up getting an acting opportunity after he made a video emulating a scene from Kamal Haasan's Virumandi. He added meeting Kamal and making him see his video was itself an achievement. Kamal said he hopes to see more of his acting in the house.
Kamal Haasan introduced Maya as a multifaceted personality. Maya said, "Bigg Boss is the only game which has audiences for winners, losers, audience for the ones who laugh and cry..." Maya, a theatre actress, shot to fame with her role as a sex worker in Vikram. She is also part of Gautham Menon's long-delayed film Dhruva Natchathiram.
Vishnu becomes the new captain of the house.
Vishnu Vijay, who started his career as a serial actor in Vijay TV's hit school drama Kanaa Kaanum Kalangal, says this entry into the show was a dream of his deceased uncle, who was like his father. Vishnu has acted in serials Sathya and Office. 'This is a dream. I have been trying to get into this for the past five years. I have an emotional connection with this show because of my uncle. If I win, it is for him,' he said
Aishu said she would be a jolly captain for Bigg Boss Tamil 7 house and put everyone in their choice of teams. The debate ended up becoming silly and powerless. Guess, the badly done debate will end up in a draw making the next contestant the captain.
Aishu, who has been part of Vijay TV's dance reality show titled Dance vs Dance, is getting a bigger stage now. "Media field has been portrayed in a bad light. Nobody says one can achieve it fair and square here. I am here to prove them all wrong," she said.
'I have struggled a lot to get here... without any backing. Bigg Boss Tamil is the next step on the journey,' she said. 'If you ask 'why we have to see you every day?' I hope I will entertain you and convince you that I am worthy of your votes,' she added.
Dancer Mani Chandra, who once made a spoof video of Bigg Boss Tamil, is now a contestant on the show. He is popular for his Instagram reels. 'I want to have fun inside the house. I don't know if I will fight and all,' he said. He is gifted with a t-shirt by his mentor choreographer Sandy Master with the words, 'Gurunaathaa'.
Pradeep's borderline-arrogant attitude doesn't work with Vinusha, who didn't back down from the debate for the captaincy. The debate has come to an impasse.
Kamal Haasan told Vinusha that it doesn't matter what the colour is outside (on the skin) as long as the inside is bright. "This colour (black) is predominant in this part of the world. And if someone mocks it, it is like mocking all of us," Kamal said.
Pradeep Antony used the same strategy again. He told Nixen that he would have to keep pleading with everyone to hold on to the captaincy. When Nixen tried to put up a fight and said that he wanted it to evade eviction, Pradeep said, "I will give it up but I will think you are scared." That seems to have done the trick. Nixen backed out of the fight immediately. Pradeep Antony is on to something here.
Raveena did put up a fight, but latest Bigg Boss Tamil 7 contestant Pradeep came across as an aggressive contender. He was a bit blunt when he told Raveena, 'You are pleading with me, and you will continue to do so with all the upcoming contestants. Do you want to look like a weak contestant on the first day itself?' Looks like Pradeep will be providing a lot of drama in Bigg Boss Tamil this season.
"I am from Vellore... currently in Chennai. I was working as an IT professional for seven months, and now I am currently a budding actor. I am here to get to the next step as an actor," Bigg Boss Tamil 7 contestant Poornima introduced herself on the show. "I used to make videos for digital platforms, and now, I have become a full-time actor," she said in her intro video.
Cool Suresh is known for his comic roles in films such as Singam Puli. He has also played lead roles starting from Padithavudan Kilithu Vidavum. He started his career in 2001 with the film Chocolate. He will next be seen in Chithirame Solladi.
Forest seems to be the theme of this year's Bigg Boss Tamil 7 house. There are plastic flowers everywhere; the confession chair looks like a giant butterfly. As Suresh explores the place, he is asked to come to the confession room. Bigg Boss names him the captain of the first week immediately. Recently, he was in the news for his controversial act at Sarakku audio launch. He forced garland on the host of the show, which faced severe backlash. Later, the actor apologised for his act. At the event, Cool Suresh broke down on the stage, "I am a very normal person. I am here because of Simbu and Santhanam."
Based on the confusing interaction between the two Kamals, we understand that there will be a 'Mini Bigg Boss' on top of the Bigg Boss this time. There is only one kitchen for the two houses. Kamal is yet to give a clear explanation about the unique set-up of this season.

Bigg Boss Tamil 7 started with Kamal Haasan being followed in his hotel room like one of the contestants. The Vikram star made coffee and talked about making something new. "To do something new is an experience. If you ask if it will yield a reward. Sometimes the experience is the reward," he said as he sipped on the freshly ground coffee. The clip ended with him saying, "To do something something new, you need guts. And because of the guts, I am here." The clip cuts to him walking in slo-mo and getting on an SUV to the venue. Of course, the background has Anirudh's raging BGM from Vikram.
