Amaran box office collection Day 3: After gradually getting close to the big league with every film of his, Sivakarthikeyan has finally kicked down the doors in style with his recent film, Amaran. The biopic of late Major Mukund Varadarajan has been winning the hearts of the audience all over, and has established Sivakarthikeyan as a top-tier star of Tamil cinema. After earning Rs 40.5 crore domestically over the first two days, Amaran managed to surpass Day 1 collections of the film on Day 3. According to trade website Sacnilk, the film has earned Rs 21.75 crore on Saturday, and has been holding strong in almost all the areas.
While the global tally had already reached Rs 42.3 crore on Day 1, it is expected that the film would have comfortably breached the Rs 100 crore club. This is reportedly Sivakarthikeyan’s third film in that club, but has reached it the fastest. The movie, which is both critically and commercially acclaimed, hit the screens on Diwali along with competition not just from Tamil (Bloody Beggar and Brother), and Telugu (Lucky Baskhar, KA), but also in Hindi (Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3). Amaran has managed to hold its own against all these films, and emerge as a bonafide success.

The film has managed to make a mark in Kerala, Mumbai, and NCR too. These numbers from all across the world point towards not just the star power of Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi, but also to the strong content of the film, and the whirlwind promotional drives conducted by team Amaran.
