Ajith Kumar-Magizh Thirumeni’s Vidaamuyarchi to begin streaming on Netflix this March

Ajith Kumar‘s action thriller, Vidaamuyarchi, helmed by Magizh Thirumeni, received a mixed response at the box-office. Despite the hype, the film didn’t match the expectations, and it continues to lead discussions about superstars of certain stature balancing fan-service films with the kind of films they want to do. Nevertheless, the discussion will have more people joining in from March 3, as the Magizh Thirumeni-directed film is set to premiere on Netflix on the said date.

Announcing the OTT release, Netflix wrote, “Muyarchi thiruvinai aakum. Vidaamuyarchi ulagai vellum (Hardwork leads to results… perseverance can win the world).” The film, backed by Lyca Productions, will be available in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi.

In SCREEN’s review of the film, Avinash Ramachandran, wrote “Obviously, there is servicing the star at times but it is never servicing the fans, and this makes all the difference.”

Vidaamuyarchi hit the screens on February 6. According to trade website Sacnilk, the Ajith-starer made around Rs 80 crores in domestic nett collections, and earned over Rs 100 crore worldwide.

Ajith, who is now balancing his acting career with his racing pursuits, is currently awaiting the release of the much-anticipated film, Good Bad Ugly. Backed by Mythri Movie Makers, the movie is helmed by Adhik Ravichandran, who delivered the blockbuster Mark Antony, and has starred alongside Ajith in Nerkonda Paarvai. Good Bad Ugly is set to hit the screens on April 10.
