Refuting reports about the upcoming weekend show on Zee TV, Neeli Chatri Waale being inspired by the film OMG:Oh My God!, producer Ashwini Dheer says it is an original story.
The show stars Yashpal Sharma as Bhagwan Das and according to a source, Himanshu Soni will be playing Lord Shiva. The story revolves around the harried and hassled Bhagwan Das — a middle-aged, middle class man from Kanpur, constantly torn between his personal and professional life. Forever bullied, either by his wife and father at home, or his boss in the office, Bhagwan Das discovers God dressed in a formal attire with a blue umbrella, and starts sharing his problems with God.
Dheer says it’s a really interesting concept about how a man discovers his inner conscience and finds solutions to his problems. “Since Yashpal has always done serious roles, he was a good choice for this role that will see him in a new avatar. He immediately agreed to do the role as well,” says Dheer, who thinks that the show will be a complete entertainer.
