Soha Ali Khan who is quickly gaining a reputation for doing out-of-the box films has now signed up for a project that has Rahul Bose and Vinod Khanna as her co-stars. The film which takes off in October is very intriguing, according to her, as it has a spiritual angle to it. “ I don’t know how to describe it, but the movie has a beautiful and novel script. All I can say is that it is a road film, romantic, with a very spiritual angle to it. It will be directed by a new guy called Varun Malhotra who has studied in New York and worked with ad film-maker Ram Madhwani. The shooting which starts in October will go on till December during which we will travel to beautiful locations like Dharmshala and Rishikesh. As for Vinod Khanna he is playing a very unusual character,” revealed Khan who plays a central character of a fun- loving college student who is married. Meanwhile the actress is charged about her upcoming Chaarfutiya Chhokare in which she plays an NRI who comes back to India to start a school in her parent’s native village and how she tackles the hardships, obstructions and risks with her strong will and determination. “My character, Neha, works for an NGO and comes to India like an idealistic and dreams of building a school with the hope of improving the lives of children and the film is set against the backdrop of education, prostitution and child labour. But when she reaches the village in Bihar she gets a taste of the local dirty politics of the area and realises that things are not as simple as they seem. But what I like about the film is that despite dealing with a social issue it has good content, is entertaining and not like a documentary,” says Khan who confesses that working in the film was emotionally and physically challenging for her, because of the strong content. The actress has just completed work on another unconventional project, Shivaji Lotan Patil’s 31st October a political thriller set against the backdrop of Sikh riots after Indira Gandhi’s assassination. Interestingly she plays a mother of three kids in the film. “Suddenly I am working with children and I realised that you have to have a lot of energy because they are so energetic. In 31st October I play a woman who struggles to protect her family comprising of three children (twins and a toddler) and a sick husband, 24 hours following the assassination of Indira Gandhi. It’s a very sensitive subject handled very beautifully by the director,” says the actress who is happy that interesting roles are coming to her. “It’s a good phase career wise and personally too,” says Khan who recently got engaged to beau Kunal Kemmu.
