Sinhassan Battisi, which is about 32 ideal qualities a king should have to rule his kingdom, will show a new track soon, the Vikram-Betal track. For Betal’s role Sony Pal has roped in Rajesh Khera, known to essay myriad and bold characters such as a transgender in Uttaran and a gay designer in Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin.
“I am playing Betal in the show and will represent one quality of the 32 qualities of the king. I have just started shooting for it. It is quite strenous as I have to prep for the scene three hours prior to my shot. I wear a five kilo wig and similar quantity of jewellery. Besides, I have to paint myself blue as well— all these things does take a toll on your physique. But it’s a great show and I am quite excited.” Interestingly, Khera who was seen in Ekta Kapoor’s first television serial Itihaas was also recently approached for her new show Itna Karo Na Mujhe Pyaar. He had to turn down the offer due to some remuneration issues with the production house. “It would be hectic shooting for both the shows,” he admits. While, Sinhasan Battisi is already being telecast, the Betal sequence will start in January next year and will be spread over 10-12 episodes.
