After witnessing a global release, Qissa, set against the aftermath of the India-Pakistan partition, will release in select theaters across metropolitans like Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata and Chandigarh on February 20. The film's DVD will also be availabe and www.cinemasofindia. com will feature it on the same day—The website is NFDC's newly launched Video-on-Demand site and will feature Qissa, other classic and contemporary parallel films, which will also be available for streaming. “We are leveraging the digital revolution to make our diverse portfolio of films in various Indian languages, accessible to a pan Indian audience and developing a distribution model that goes beyond the traditional release pattern, which is driven by windows between each media platform. This way we can cut through the clutter, invest once and allow people to buy it however they want to consume it,” says Nina Lath Gupta, Managing Director, NFDC.
