Helly Shah, Tejaswi Prakash become perfectionists

For their upcoming show Swaragini that goes on air on March 2, the young actors have got completely into their character
After exploring the cultures of Haryana, Rajasthan and Gujarat, Colors will now introduce the Bengali culture in its new show Swaragini. Set against the backdrop of Kolkata, it is the journey of Swara and Ragini — two diverse personalities —who discern their true selves while striking a perfect balance between their family values and music.
And the two actors playing the lead parts, that of Swara (Helly Shah) and Ragini (Tejaswi Prakash) are putting in their best efforts to do complete justice to the Bengali characters. Shah, who hails from a Gujarati family and is a vegetarian, had a nightmare when her very first scene required her to hold two big fishes.
But she delivered the shot after practising it for an entire day. She says she has no affinity towards non-vegetarian food. “But since the role demanded I had no escape route. I did get cold feet while enacting the scene.
It took me one whole day to get used to the fishes and the smell, but as an actor what needs to be done needs to be done,” she remarks. As for Prakash, who essays the role of a traditional, conservative girl, inclined towards music, she will be seen playing the sitar and humming classical numbers.
However, Prakash, who is already a trained singer will be singing for the show for the first time. “My training in classical singing has been very minimal. I hail from a musical family and just when everyone heard me singing, they encouraged me to do playback for Swaragini. I am really looking forward and hope to please everyone,” she says.
