Haider team returns to Kashmir for the final schedule

The team of Vishal Bhardwaj’s Haider kick-started the second and final schedule of the film, returning to the snow clad mountains of Kashmir on January 26. While Shraddha Kapoor and Irrfan shot for their portions first, Shahid Kapoor and Tabu joined them a day later.

Caught in the fire

A bizarre incident took place on the first day of Kapoor’s shoot, as both he and Irrfan were almost attacked by a few locals. The actors were shooting for a kidnapping sequence, which happens to be a pivotal one. Several youngsters were excited to catch a glimpse of Kapoor and admist the euphoria, this incident took place. A source close to the film informed, “It was a little strange, but the incident wasn’t as big as it was rumoured. A few locals wanted Kapoor and Irrfan’s autograph, but we requested them to come later. As some of them got impatient, they tried throwing a few coal pieces, which flew off the kangdis (traditional earthen fire pots which are used to warm the hands or feet) that they were carrying. But, thankfully no one got hurt and the actors just smiled as they resumed shooting.”

During the shoot, a few fans saw Kapoor filming some crucial scenes in Pahalgam. The actor was snapped wearing a traditional pheran in black, which is a famous ethnic attire of Kashmir. Kapoor will be seen sporting different looks in the film; the most talked of being the bald paté that the actor will sport in the film. Kapoor shaved off his head late afternoon on January 29 at a popular salon in Srinagar. His look is being kept under wraps, especially since many fans and photographers have been trying to catch a glimpse of the actor in his new avatar. Kapoor will be seen sporting beanies every time he steps out, in order to make sure that the complete look is not leaked out.
Irrfan was also seen wearing black gloves, a pair of dark glasses and a shawl. Shraddha, who will be seen playing a daredevil journalist in the film, was snapped wearing a hijab and filming a few scenes on the streets of Pahalgam. The final schedule of Haider will go on for 20-25 days in Kashmir. With several instances of the crowd trying to disrupt the shoot throughout the week, Bhardwaj has contacted the local police to provide security, in order to make sure that there are no untoward instances. Produced by Disney – UTV, Haider is an adaptation of Shakespeare’s popular tragedy, Hamlet and is scheduled to release on September 12.
