One of India’s leading fashion designers, Vikram Phadnis, will now turn director with a film which will talk about the journey of a family. While Bipasha Basu is to play the leading lady, Rana Dagubatti will play her husband in the untitled film. The family drama, which is an Australian production called 3 Aces Production, is set in Australia and the entire film will be shot in Melbourne.
“Celebrating life is the concept of the film which has a message – it’s not how long you live but how you live that’s important. Bipasha is excited about the film for which we will have a start-to-finish 50-day shooting schedule from January,” said Phadnis who has known Basu for 15 years.
As for turning director, Phadnis, who has also written the story of the film, said that it was a natural progression. “I have been writing for over two years and have been a technician and costume designer for many years, so direction was the next step. When you are behind the camera, something attracts you and the whole feeling of being the captain of a ship and telling a story excited me,” he stated.
