Even as Pakistani actor Ali Zafar is gearing up for the release of his upcoming action drama, ‘Kill Dil’, the actor is busy scripting a story that he plans to direct. The project will be an Indo-Pak venture, shot completely in Pakistan and will roll next year. At present Zafar is in talks with producers and studios to fund his project.
Perhaps, this is the reason why the actor has not signed any project after ‘Kill Dil’. “I just want to focus on this film which I want to make for Pakistan. It will be an entertainer that is aimed to arouse curiosity in the minds of the audience. I also plan to act in it,” says Zafar.
Meanwhile, the actor has departed from his soft, romantic image that he has sported in his movies so far, and ventured into the rough, tough world of a typical Hindi film hero in ‘Kill Dil’. The actor shall sport a grungy look, complete with long hair, a beard and a muscular physique. It took Zafar almost three to four months of intensive training to build his physique. “I did my homework, trained physically to buff up and gain mass. Since my character is from Kanpur, I also worked on the dialect and language to get the diction right.”
“It’s very different from the roles that I have done so far. I wanted to create an original character that people would remember in the future,” explains Zafar, who considers Kill Dil as his biggest film till date. “It is good commercial cinema with substance. I am sure people will accept me in this character as I have essayed it with conviction. I have very high expectations from this film,” said Zafar, concluding on an optimistic note.
