Sridevi as evil queen, Vijay as the saviour in ‘Puli’ trailer

The trailer of one of the most-awaited Tamil film, ‘Puli’ starring Vijay and Sridevi is here and has definitely succeeded is having audiences intrigued.

Directed by Chumbu Deven, the film has Vijay playing the lead role of Maru Dheeran, who is determined to win the fight against evil with his brilliant swordsmanship as well as high-flying stunts.

We also see actress Sridevi in a majestic role of a Queen as she marks her comeback to Tamil cinema after a hiatus of almost two decades.

The 114-second trailer is set against an imaginary land ruled by an evil princess, played by Sridevi, whose look seems inspired from Hollywood star Angelina Jolie in ‘Maleficent’.

Glimpses of Shruti Haasan and Hansika Motwani make the trailer even more of a treat.

‘Puli’ is said to be based on similar lines as of Hollywood film, ‘The Gladiator’ starring Russell Crowe.

Soon after its release, the trailer has been trending on Twitter by the keywords, #MajesticPuliTrailer. Actress Sridevi also shared the trailer on her page for her fans.

The trailer ends on a high note with a dialogue that goes, “Only with regards to love I melt like a dewdrop. When it comes to enmity, I’m a tiger”.

The film has music by Devi Sri Prasad, and is slated to release on September 17. (With IANS inputs)
