Travis Kelce’s ex Kayla Nicole sends cryptic message days after Taylor Swift engagement : ‘Stop playing…’

On the day Travis and Taylor announced their engagement, Kayla shared a clip of actor Tracee Ellis Ross reflecting on joy versus happiness, writing that she “aspired” to that kind of joy while referencing the book Choose Joy: Because Happiness Isn’t Enough. “I think joy is different from happiness. I feel like happiness is something you can get at 7-Eleven, and joy is something that you earn, work for, and practice,” Ross said in the clip. In the extended version, she added, “I feel like joy has legs. I feel like joy has feet. I feel like joy has roots. I feel like joy creates space and allows room for more than just a good day.” She continued, “I think joy is an attitude. I think joy is a perspective, and I think joy is a lens through which I live and look at my life.”

Despite the breakup and all the attention, Kayla has tried to stay positive. She admitted that dealing with the public breakup has been overwhelming. Social media constantly reminded her of how great Travis and Taylor are, and it made her question herself at times. But she made it clear she doesn’t have any bad blood with Taylor, saying, “I really like her. I think she’s very talented.”

Travis and Taylor’s story started in July 2023. Travis, a big Swift fan, tried to give her a friendship bracelet at her Kansas City show, but it didn’t work out. Later, he invited Taylor to watch him play at Arrowhead Stadium, and that’s how their love story blossomed. Taylor recently graced Kelce’s New Heights podcast and spoke about her version of the love story, which was completely different from Travis’s. After two years of dating, Travis proposed in August 2025, and the couple plans a private, casual wedding.  In the post, Travis called Taylor his “English teacher,” and Taylor called him her “gym teacher,” captioning their engagement photos with playful references to high school. The ring Travis gave Taylor was a huge, old mine brilliant-cut diamond, co-designed by him and a jeweller, and it could be worth up to a million dollars.
