Veteran singer Stevie Wonder has been tapped to serve as the Grand Marshal of the 83rd annual Hollywood Christmas parade in Los Angeles. The 64-year-old ‘Superstition’ hitmaker will lead America’s largest festive celebration on the streets of LA on November 30, reported Variety.

In addition to announcing his upcoming gig, Wonder also acknowledged that 2014 marks an important anniversary in the history of civil rights in America, and he is looking forward to capping off the year as the leader of the annual event.

“I am deeply honoured to be serving as Grand Marshal of the Hollywood Christmas Parade as 2014 is a historic one in the annals of American history, and represents the 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act of 1964,” Wonder said.

Wonder will be joined by hosts Dean Cain, Erik Estrada and TV presenter Montel Williams.
