Last month, singer Neha Kakkar broke down and apologised profusely to her fans after she allegedly arrived three hours late for her concert in Melbourne, Australia. Later, she spoke out after facing backlash for arriving late to her Melbourne concert, revealing that the event’s organisers abandoned their responsibilities and fled with her payment.

Now, as she continues to get trolled for her lack of punctuality even amid her claims of mismanagement on the organisers’ end, Neha has shared another video on her Instagram handle. “Hi, you want to know what actually happened at Melbourne show?,” she smiles and asks her followers in a selfie video.

The video then cuts to clips of Neha performing with full energy in front of the Melbourne audience. The audience cheers and dances along as Neha sings Sukhbir’s popular Punjabi track “Taare Gin Gin”. She even delivers a few thumkas as she croons her breakthrough song, “Dilbar”, from Milap Zaveri’s 2018 hit vigilante action thriller Satyamev Jayate.

“Itna wait karne ke baad, itni energy ke sath, itna pyaar de rahe ho aap sab! Zor se taaliyan bajao apne liye (After waiting for so long, you’re full of energy and are giving me so much love! Applaud yourselves!),” Neha said on stage, to some “Love you, Neha” chants. At the end of the video, Neha thanks the audience with folded hands. While most of them cheer, some of them sit with sullen faces at the front.

In a video, posted on Reddit last month by a user, Neha was seen crying on stage while some audience members booed her as she arrived late for the concert. Some members could be heard shouting ‘go back’ to Neha, who then took the mic to address the audience. “You have been really sweet and patient. Itni der se aap log wait kar rahe ho (you have been waiting for so long). I hate it. Maine life mein kabhi kisi ko wait nahi karwaya (I’ve never made anyone wait in my entire life),” the singer said.

“I’m so sorry. You mean the world to me. Aap log itne sweet ho (You people are so sweet). I was so worried about ki kya hoga (I was worried what would happen). It means a lot to me. I’ll remember this evening forever. But I’ll make sure, aap log jo mere liye itna keemati time nikaal ke aaye ho (that you have taken out your precious time for me), I will make you all dance,” she added.

While her apology pacified some in the audience, many were still not convinced. A user in the video said, “This isn’t India, you’re in Australia. Go back and take rest. We waited for over two hours. Very good acting. Yeh Indian Idol nahi hai (This isn’t Indian Idol).” Another person called her concert a “waste of time and money.”

Later, Neha shared a detailed statement, in which she said, “They said I was three hours late, but did anyone ask what happened to me and my band? The organizers ran away with my money and others’ as well. My band wasn’t even provided food, accommodation, or water. My husband and his team had to step in to arrange food for them. Despite everything, we still performed for my Melbourne audience—completely free—because my fans were waiting for hours.”

She further explained that the concert’s sound check was severely delayed because the sound vendor refused to proceed due to unpaid dues. “I couldn’t even reach the venue for the sound check. At one point, we weren’t sure if the concert would happen at all because the organizers stopped answering my manager’s calls,” Neha added.
