‘I think I hate myself sometimes,’ says Justin Bieber, admits to anger issues
Justin Bieber opens up in a raw behind-the-scenes video from his upcoming album, revealing struggles with authenticity, anger issues, and life as a new dad.

Justin Bieber just gave fans an intimate behind-the-scenes look at the making of his upcoming album. On Saturday, the singer shared a jam session video on Instagram, showing himself at the keys alongside a crew of talented musicians, including singer-songwriter Jensen McRae, pastor Judah Smith, Josh Mehl, DJ Tay James, and producer Camper, among others.
But the random social media update wasn’t just about the music. In his caption, Bieber opened up about his personal growth, the pressure to please others and how losing himself in the process has taken a toll. “I think I hate myself sometimes when I feel myself start to become inauthentic,” he admitted, hinting that his music might carry the essence of that emotional journey. “Then I remember we’re all being made to think we’re not enough but I still hate when I change myself to please people,” the “Peaches” singer captioned the nearly three-minute clip.

This isn’t the first time Justin Bieber has peeled back the curtain on his personal struggles. Lately, his social media has been filled with the same vulnerable energy, with Bieber openly sharing his highs and lows, and at times, even getting visibly emotional. Earlier in the day, the “Believe” singer shared yet another personal message with his fans, revealing his desire to work through his “anger issues.” “I got anger issues too, but I wanna grow and not react so much smh,” he admitted.
The post came alongside three photos. One of Bieber with his face tucked beneath a hoodie, another throwback from his childhood days, and a final shot of his newborn, Jack Blues. Now, fans are convinced his upcoming album might be his most personal yet. The first to truly capture his turbulent past, his complicated relationships, and his life after becoming a father.
Some even saw the post as a response to his ex Selena Gomez’s new collaborative album, I Said I Love You First, with her fiancé Benny Blanco. Fans were convinced the “Love On” singer took a subtle jab at her ex when she sang about a cheating former lover. In her song “How Does It Feel To Be Forgotten”, she sings, “You’re so embarrassing / Go cry when no one’s watching… How does it feel to be forgotten?”
On March 16, Justin Bieber took to Instagram Stories to reflect on his journey of letting go of hate. He shared, “I WAS ALWAYS TOLD WHEN I WAS A KID NOT TO HATE … BUT IT MADE ME FEEL LIKE I WASN’T ALLOWED TO HAVE IT AND SO I DIDN’T TELL ANYONE I’VE HAD IT.” This came just days after another vulnerable post on March 13, where the Grammy winner admitted he feels “unequipped and unqualified most days.” And in February, Bieber spoke about his efforts to “grow up,” saying he’s been learning to “let go and remember the weight isn’t on me to change.”
