Videos and photos of him chilling and walking around the streets of Mumbai are being shared online, and Mendes has been heralded for his relaxed demeanour. He won hearts with a rendition of his popular number, ‘Senorita’, in the bylanes of the city. Sharing a video of Mendes singing the hit song with his audience, The Soundspace India, wrote, “When you get a private performance of ‘Señorita’ from the artist himself… Still buzzing from the moment Shawn Mendes turned a small basti in Mumbai into his stage and treated us to an unforgettable rendition of ‘Señorita’. Surrounded by our students, this wasn’t just a performance — it was pure magic! Safe to say, we’ll be replaying this one in our heads for a long, long time!”

The comments section was filled with warm messages about the performance and Mendes’ charming presence. Interestingly, there were tongue-in-cheek comments about how Shawn was lucky to have performed in the streets of Mumbai instead of Bengaluru. This was in reference to the recent incident of the Bengaluru police stopping an impromptu Ed Sheeran street performance in the city’s famous Church Street. The police later clarified that they had to ask him to stop performing because prior permission for the same wasn’t obtained from the authorities. However, Sheeran immediately clarified that permission was obtained, and said, “We had permission to busk…hence us playing in that exact spot, was planned out before, it wasn’t just us randomly turning up.”
