Sobha Viswanath secured the position of the third runner-up, while Junaiz VP was declared the second runner-up of the show. Marar was presented with a trophy and a cash prize of Rs 50 lakh.
The makers of Bigg Boss Malayalam 5 released a promo ahead of the finale. In the video, Mohanlal thanked viewers for their support this season, and said, “For the last 14 weeks, you have eagerly watched all the episodes of Bigg Boss Malayalam. You have encouraged the contestants and decided their fates. You have been with us throughout this journey.”
He added, “I too concerned myself with the happenings in the house and was a witness to the contestants’ journey. Today (July 2) marks the grand conclusion. Let us together witness the much-awaited finale.”

The competition began on March 26, 2023, with 18 housemates – Reneesha Rahman, Rinosh George, Cerena Ann Johnson, Sobha Viswanath, Sagar Surya, Vishnu Joshi, Angeline Mariya, Sreedevi Menon, Junaiz VP, Akhil Marar, Anjuz Rosh, Maneesha KS, Aniyan Midhun, Nadira Mehrin, Aiswarya Suresh, Shiju Abdul Rasheed, Sruthi Lakshmi and Gopika Gopi. Hanan Hameed, Omar Lulu and Anu Joseph were the wildcard contestants.
