Tovino Thomas calls Rajamouli ‘an inspiration’, says people coined the term pan-India after Baahubali’s release

Amidst this, a statement made by 2018 star Tovino Thomas about RRR director SS Rajamouli has now gone viral on social media.

While addressing the media in Hyderabad, as part of the film’s promotions, Tovino called Rajamouli an inspiration and said: “The term pan-India was coined by the people after Baahubali was released. Thanks to Rajamouli sir for that. After that, he is now taking Indian cinema and Telugu cinema to another level. We started getting global visibility after RRR. The way he makes his movies, showcases them, and makes sure that they reach every part of the world, is a true inspiration for every filmmaker in every nook and corner of India, to try and chase their dreams to make movies that are appreciated all over the world. I really believe Indian industries have that potential to do that.”

2018 – Everyone Is A Hero, which has emerged as an all-time blockbuster was released on May 5, 2023, and went on to receive good reviews from critics and audiences alike. In its review of the film, The Indian Express noted that “2018 – Everyone Is A Hero, as the title suggests, is a homage to the hundreds of thousands of people who banded together in the face of extreme rainfall and helped one another during a time of great darkness, rather than being the documentation of actual events that unfolded in the weeks that led up to mid-August that year.”

Tovino is currently working on big-budget epic period action film Ajayante Randam Moshanam, helmed by Jithin Laal. Krithi Shetty, Aishwarya Rajesh, Surabhi Lakshmi, Basil Joseph, Shivajith, Aju Varghese, Harish Uthaman and Rohini are also part of the film’s cast.
