Mammootty heads to Hyderabad for shoot of Mahesh Narayanan’s Patriot: ‘Back to doing what I love most in life after a short break’

Malayalam superstar Mammootty took to his X account to post a note announcing his return to work.

Mammootty is set to shoot Patriot alongside Mohanlal in Hyderabad.

Malayalam superstar Mammootty, who took a “short break” due to health concerns, headed to Hyderabad on Tuesday for the shoot of Patriot, an espionage thriller directed by Mahesh Narayanan.

Mammootty took to his X account to post a note, announcing his return to work. “Back to doing what I love most in life after a short break. Words aren’t enough to thank everyone who checked on me during my absence. The camera is calling.” The post was accompanied by a recent photo of the actor leaning against his Toyota Land Cruiser 300.

Anto Joseph, the producer of Patriot and a close friend of Mammootty, recently announced the star’s return in an Instagram post, “Beloved Mammukka is returning… From October 1st, he will resume acting in the film directed by Mahesh Narayanan. That unexpected break was overcome with the strength of the prayers and fortitude of people all over the world,” Joseph wrote, adding that Mammootty will join the Hyderabad schedule of the big-budget production.

Earlier, Patriot director Mahesh Narayanan opened up about the process of shooting the film in Mammootty’s absence “I would visit his house to show him edits. He was completely part of the process, even if he wasn’t on location.”

Besides Mammootty, Patriot also stars Mohnalal, Kunchako Boban, Fahad Faasil, and Nayanthara. It is expected to hit theatres next year.
