Kaathal – The Core, produced by Mammootty Kampany and jointly written by Adarsh Sukumaran and Paulson Skaria, opened to rave reviews. Expressing immense happiness over the film’s reception, Jyotika posted on Instagram, “Some movies are made for the right reasons, with pure intentions and only for the love of cinema. Kaathal – The Core is one such film which was earnestly made from the core of the entire team. Thank you to the most wonderful audience for recognising and respecting this emotion. 🙏Your love for a good film will only make cinema a better place. All my love and respect and a big salute to the real life hero @mammootty sir !!!! 🫡To the daring and supremely talented @jeobabymusic ,To the revolutionary writers @adarshsukumaran_ n @paulsonskaria and the whole team for making me part of this Gem. Omana and Matthew will forever live in the core of my heart .#KaathalTheCore.”
An excerpt from The Indian Express’ review of Kaathal – The Core read, “As Mammootty aptly expressed during one of the pre-release promotional events for the film, Kaathal is indeed a revolutionary film, even in a cinematic landscape where several movies have explicitly addressed homosexuality. While Mammootty and Jyotika deliver standout performances, bringing out the best in their characters with subtlety, avoiding any exaggeration or loudness, their on-screen chemistry is also noteworthy, deserving praise for the well-crafted depiction of their characters.”
