Pet Detective trailer: Sharaf U Dheen promises a fun, eccentric twist on the detective genre

Pet Detective trailer: The trailer of Sharaf U Dheen’s comedy film Pet Detective, which will hit screens on October 16, was unveiled on Thursday. The promo promises a fun, eccentric twist on the detective genre.

In Pet Detective, Sharaf U Dheen plays Private Detective Tony Jose Alula, a quirky investigator who never misses a chance to mention that he once worked in Mexico. We get glimpses of the detective and a police officer investigating a series of bizarre occurrences. The trailer also hints at a plot involving international smuggling, child trafficking, and a mysterious item valued at ₹30 crore.

Sharaf posted the trailer of the film on his Instagram page with the caption, “DETECTIVE DEPARTURE Trailer just dropped – join in our madness.”

Pet Detective marks Sharaf U Dheen’s debut as a producer. The film also stars Anupama Parameswaran, Vinay Forrt, Vinayakan, Sarpatta Parambarai fame Muthu Kumar, Shobhi Thilakan, and Shyam Mohan, among others.

Sharaf U Dheen had earlier spoken about the conception of Pet Detective. He said, “One of my friends, who was a pet owner, lost his pet recently. All of us friends got together and put out messages across social media to find the missing pet, and we found it. That incident was the starting point for this movie.”

Jointly bankrolled by Gokulam Gopalan and Sharaf U Dheen, the film also marks a reunion of the technical team behind Nivin Pauly’s seminal blockbuster Premam, with cinematographer Anand C. Chandran and music director Rajesh Murugesan joining forces once again.
