Mohanlal’s Malaikottai Vaaliban clears censor board with UA certificate, runtime revealed

As Malaikottai Vaaliban‘s release date is fast approaching, not just fans of Mohanlal, but Malayalam cinema fans are excited as the film has been a much-awaited project since its announcement. Now, new updates about the movie have been revealed. The upcoming film, featuring Malayalam superstar Mohanlal and directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery, has been awarded a UA certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification. The movie has a runtime of 155 minutes.

Earlier, the teaser of the film opened with a Tamil monologue by Mohanlal. Mohanlal declares, “What you have seen is the truth. What you have not seen is a lie. What I will show you now is the truth.” The teaser, featuring Mohanlal in a striking pose with a scarf, provided minimal information about the film. Going by all the songs and promos, the movie comes across as a historical fantasy.

Mohanlal could be playing a black magician or an or illusionist in the film, according to speculations. The movie is scheduled for release on January 25, 2024, inviting audiences to uncover the truth on the big screen.

Produced by John & Mary Creative, Century Films, and Maxlab & Saregama, Malaikottai Vaaliban is based on a script by P S Rafeeque. Earlier, talking about the film, Lijo said that the idea for Malaikottai Vaaliban took root years ago and matured into a comprehensive plot over time, with Rafeeq expanding the narrative.

The film also features Sonalee Kulkarni, Hareesh Peradi, Danish Sait, Manoj Moses, Katha Nandi, and Manikandan Achari. The music of the movie is composed by Prashanth Pillai.
