Lokah Box Office Collection Day 12: Will director Dominic Arun’s blockbuster superhero film Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra emerge as the highest-grossing Malayalam movie of all time? As the Kalyani Priyadarshan and Naslen-starrer continues its highly successful run at the box office, film circles are abuzz with this million-dollar question. Despite gearing up to enter its third week in cinemas, Lokah is not only holding strong but also overtaking blockbuster Malayalam films on the all-time rankings. On its second Monday in theatres, Lokah earned more money than Thudarum (2025), Manjummel Boys (2024), and even L2: Empuraan (2025), thus showing promise that it has the potential to dethrone all these blockbusters.

On Monday, which marked its 12th day in theatres, Lokah registered an India nett collection of Rs 5.75 crore, according to early estimates by industry tracker Sacnilk, taking its total domestic earnings to Rs 88.25 crore. Although this marked a 43.35 per cent dip in the movie’s daily collection compared to the Rs 10.15 crore it earned on Sunday, the superhero movie still outperformed even bigger Malayalam blockbusters. While Tharun Moorthy’s Mohanlal-starrer Thudarum, which ranks as the third-highest-grossing Malayalam movie now, minted Rs 4.85 crore on its second Monday, Chidambaram’s Manjummel Boys eked out Rs 4.5 crore, and Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Mohanlal-led L2: Empuraan made Rs 1.55 crore on their respective corresponding days.

With no major releases lined up for the coming weeks in the Malayalam industry at the moment, Lokah still has ample time to continue its triumphant run. Given that the movie has already outperformed its major Onam season competitor, Hridayapoorvam, by leaps and bounds — evident from the fact that the Sathyan Anthikad–Mohanlal film has managed to gross only Rs 61.1 crore globally so far, with a second Monday nett collection of just Rs 1.34 crore — the entire scenario is currently in favour of Lokah.

While it’s just a few crores shy of surpassing the India nett collection record set by director Jude Anthany Joseph’s 2018 (Rs 92.85 crore), Lokah still has Empuraan (Rs 105.25 crore), Thudarum (Rs 121.2 crore), and Manjummel Boys (Rs 141.61 crore) to beat in the domestic market.
