Hanumankind to make film debut in Aashiq Abu’s Rifle Club, playing Anurag Kashyap’s son
Rapper Hanumankind, who recently gained widespread acclaim for the English song "Big Dawgs," is all set to make his film debut in director Aashiq Abu's upcoming movie Rifle Club.

Global musical sensation Sooraj Cherukat, known professionally as Hanumankind, who recently gained widespread acclaim for the English song “Big Dawgs,” is all set to make his film debut in director Aashiq Abu’s upcoming movie Rifle Club. On Sunday, the director revealed the rapper’s first look from the film.
The poster, awash in deep red and golden hues, shows him holding a pistol and wearing stylish shades. A closer look at the poster reveals smoke rising from the gun’s mouth, suggesting that he has just fired it. His unshaken demeanour underscores that this isn’t his first time, and it won’t be his last. “Introducing @hanumankind as Bheera 🔥,” Aashiq captioned the poster.
Sharing the same image via his official Instagram account, Hindi filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, who plays a major character in Rifle Club, revealed that the rapper plays the role of his “volatile son.” However, more information about Anurag’s character is yet to be disclosed.
Hanumankind achieved global fame after his song “Big Dawgs,” featuring music producer Kalmi, was met with widespread acclaim upon its release in July this year. The music video features him performing at the centre of a carnival attraction known as the Wall of Death (called Marana Kinar in Malayalam), where riders drive motorcycles and cars along the vertical walls of a barrel-shaped wooden cylinder, performing stunts.

With over 59 million views on YouTube, it currently ranks number four on the list of global top music videos. The song, written and composed by Hanumankind, gained popularity for its politically charged lyrics addressing the theme of identity.
Bankrolled by director Aashiq himself, with Vincent Chackochan Vadakkan and Vishal Vincent Tony as co-producers, Rifle Club features a star-studded cast, including Darshana Rajendran, Dileesh Pothan, Vishnu Agasthya, Unnimaya Prasad, Vijayaraghavan, Vani Viswanath, Vincy Aloshious, Ramzan Muhammed, Surabhi Lakshmi, and Vineeth Kumar, among others, alongside Anurag and Hanumankind. Rifle Club is penned by Syam Pushkaran, Dileesh Karunakaran, Sharfu, and Suhas. The official release date for the movie has not yet been announced.
