Dulquer Salmaan is currently busy promoting his music video “Heeriye”, featuring the vocals of Jasleen Royal and Arijit Singh. In an promotional interview for the song, the actor was asked about the place of Malayalam cinema in the aggressive pan-India race. Dulquer said that the Malayalam film industry is not pursuing such cinema, but things are heading in that direction.

He said, “I don’t think we are pursuing that kind of big, loud, and far-reaching cinema. We are quite rooted in story-telling. That’s why it (Malayalam cinema) always tends to work more digitally. But it is changing. People are finding the courage to dream bigger.”

When asked if he would be ready to team up with RRR stars Ram Charan and Jr NTR, Dulquer said, “I would love to but… I can’t dance and fight like them. I will find something. Have you seen those boys dance? It’s nuts. It’s not even human. I am like you guys are born to do this.

Dulquer was also candid when asked to choose his favourite co-star between Nithya Menen and Mrunal Thakur. DQ quickly chose Mrunal. “I think because of the film, it was so special. It became way better than what I dreamt it would become. It was iconic and timeless.”

Last year was a great one for Dulquer Salmaan as both his films Sita Ramam and Chup turned out to be successful. He will return to the big screen with his ambitious project King of Kotha, which will be released in multiple languages.
