With Love, Meghan receives brutal reviews: Meghan Markle’s cooking show called ‘uninspired, exercise in narcissism’; receives 33% rating on Rotten Tomatoes
With Love, Meghan reviews are in: Meghan Markle's new lifestyle show has received low ratings and largely negative reviews.

Meghan Markle’s new cooking show on Netflix — With Love, Meghan — hasn’t quite hit the ground running. While some critics are arguing that the show seems like an awkward attempt to seem relatable, many fans argue that the people are viewing this show from the wrong lens.
The show debuted on Netflix on Tuesday and has since then turned quite a few heads, but not all of them for the right reasons. The series revolves around the Duchess of Sussex and her love for cooking. She invites guests on the show, and they cook and converse while reflecting on their lives.
While cooking with a member of the royal family in the scenic California seems to be a script for an interesting narrative, the reviews reflect something else. Rotten Tomatoes has given the show only a 33% rating, and while IMDb isn’t always the most accurate bar of comparison, the site has given the show a rating of 2.6/10.
Many publications have been merciless in their review of the show. The Guardian called it pointless while the Telegraph called it an ‘exercise in narcissism’.
She was also criticised for a segment in the show when she tells Mindy Kaling that ‘my last name is Sussex’. While Mindy replied that she was unaware of the fact, fans responded how how ‘she was trying to ‘reduce a royal title to last name’. Meghan and Prince Harry departed from the royal roles in 2020 amid a fractured relationship with the family.
Many fans online have defended the show and argued that it is just a feel-good show about cooking and gardening; it should be treated as one. “The Duchess has successfully transitioned into her signature identity as a wife, mother, and domestic queen of details. The show is visually pleasing and refreshing, much like the setting it’s shot in,” said popular X user Saasington, M.C.

One cannot ignore the fact that Meghan Markle has had a target on her back since the day she married Prince Harry. Is all this scrutiny really valid? Or is the show receiving unnecessary flack because of its main character? Even if some part of the audience is being unfair to the show, the poor numbers it has displayed also cannot be ignored.
The Suits actor has produced the show herself in collaboration with Prince Harry’s Archwell Productions, and it has a total of 8 episodes.
