After Marvel’s Logan, Guardians of the Galaxy and Spiderman: Homecoming, which had hit the  screens earlier this year, fans have been patiently waiting for the release of Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston and Cate Blanchett’s film Thor: Ragnarok. When superheroes Captain America and Iron Man were raging war against each other in Captain America: Civil War, Hulk and Thor who were absent from the franchise, were fighting their own battle (literally) in Asgard. The film will be releasing in several languages in India and it is expected to touch the Rs 4 crore mark on the first day.

“Disney is releasing Thor: Ragnarok in India in various other languages. It depends on how wide they are all going to be considering all the languages. It should earn in similar capacity with Ittefaq. On Friday, I am expecting Thor: Ragnarok to earn Rs 4 to Rs 5 crore all languages combined. By the time the weekend arrives it can cross the Rs 15 crore mark,” Girish Johar told indianexpress.com.

The booking for the Hindi version had started earlier on online platforms. Although Chris Hemsworth’s film has managed to create a massive hype, trade analyst Girish Johar has a slightly different opinion about the film. “Thor maybe a popular Marvel character but he isn’t individually as popular as Spiderman, Superman, Batman or other franchises like James Bond and Fast and Furious. It has its appeal but not that wide. The film is getting exceptional reviews, so this might be a stepping stone for a bigger, singular franchise,” he said.
