The Mummy trailer: Tom Cruise reboots the franchise with Mission Impossible-styled action

It is a fictionally known fact, that a lot of damages occur when one messes with the corpses of the dead, the harm is more ghastly when one decides to uncover a Mummy. This is exactly what happens in the trailer. The majority of the 2.5-minute long trailer shows a plane crash sequence. It doesn’t take much time to guess that the disastrous turn of events take place as Tom and his team is transporting a Mummy in that aircraft.

The Mummy is the first instalment in the Universal Monsters Cinematic Universe. Tom Cruise is pulling pulled off some high-end action in the ancient Egypt film. An ancient princess named Ahmanet and played by actor Sofia Boutella, is awakened from her crypt beneath the desert. She brings malevolence and great terrors that endanger modern-day people.

“Please meet Princess Ahmanet,” Russell Crowe tells Cruise in the trailer, as the princess wreaks havoc over London. “She will claim what she has been denied.”

The previous Mummy franchise had four movies which were released between 1999 and 2008. They famously starred actor Brendan Fraser, who will not be returning this time. The Mummy also stars Courtney B. Vance, Annabelle Wallis, and Jake Johnson.

Directed by Alex Kurtzman, The Mummy reboot will hit the theaters on June 9, 2017.
