Taylor Swift was ‘living the life of a showgirl’ while making new album, says boyfriend Travis Kelce; reveals complete track list
Taylor Swift spoke about her new album and announced the title of the 12 songs on The Life of a Showgirl on boyfriend Travis Kelce's podcast.

Taylor Swift has finally announced the release date of her new album ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ on her boyfriend Travis Kelce’s podcast ‘New Heights’. Taylor also announced the titles of the 12 songs on the album, along with sharing the cover art. In a chat with Travis’ brother Jason, where she was accompanied by Travis, Taylor spoke at length about making the album during the Eras tour and what it represents.
Taylor pulled out a mint green briefcase with the alphabets TS on top in orange, which is the theme colour of the album. She opened the briefcase and pulled out the vinyl album of ‘The Life of a Showgirl’. “It was something that I was working on while I was in Europe on the Eras tour,” she said as Travis expressed, “How on earth did she do this on tour is still blowing my mind.”
Taylor shared her exhausting schedule while she made the album and said, “I just love it a lot. I love music. I would be playing shows, like three shows in a row. I’d have three days off. I’d fly to Sweden, go back to the tour. Actually, like working on this, I was physically exhausted at this point in the tour but I was so mentally stimulated and so excited to be creating and this…” Travis completed her sentence and said, “Literally living the life of a showgirl.” And Taylor continued, “I was. That’s why I called it that.”

Taylor then showed the back cover of the album and read out the names of the 12 songs on the album – “The Fate of Ophelia”, “Elizabeth Taylor”, “Opalite”, “Father Figure”, “Eldest Daughter”, “Ruin the Friendship”, “Actually Romantic”, “Wi$h Li$t”, “Wood”, “CANCELLED!”, “Honey”, “The Life of a Showgirl featuring Sabrina Carpenter”.
Talking about the album, Taylor shared that it was a representation of what was going on in her life while she was on tour. “This album is about what was going on behind the scenes in my inner life during this tour which was so exuberant, electric and vibrant,” she said and added, “It just comes from the most infectiously joyful wild dramatic place I was in my life and so that effervescence has come through this record.”
Taylor mentioned that with this album it will just be the 12 songs that are on the album right now, and she won’t be releasing any additional music. “There’s no other songs coming. With The Tortured Poets Department, I was like, here’s a data dump of everything I have thought, felt in two or three years. This is 12, there is not a 13th, no 14th, there’s no other ones coming. This is the record I have been wanting to make for a very long time,” she said and announced that the album would release on October 3.
Taylor also discussed the “theme” of the albums and her “main goals” with it and shared, “I would say it’s everything that was going on behind the curtain.” Talking about her goals, she said, “My main goals were melodies that are so infectious that you are almost angry at it. And lyrics that are just as vivid but crisp and focused and completely intentional.”
Taylor also shared some Instagram posts about her new album where she showed the new cover art, back cover, song titles, and a few images of hers from the album.
