Stephenie Meyer not returning to Twilight franchise

'I get further away every day. I am so over it. For me,it's not a happy place to be,' said Stephenie Meyer.

Fans may still want to enter the world of Edward and Bella but “Twilight” author Stephenie Meyer says she is done with the vampire romance.

The series was made into a successful film franchise starring Robert Pattinson as the handsome vampire who falls for Bella (Kristen Stewart),a human.

Meyer, who became a household name with the success of the books and the movies,is not looking forward to take the story further after ending it in “Breaking Dawn”,the Variety reported.

“I get further away every day. I am so over it. For me,it’s not a happy place to be,” said Meyer.

She is instead busy promoting the release of whimsical comedy “Austenland”. Meyer produced the film through her Fickle Fish banner.

Keri Russell stars as a die-hard Jane Austen fan who plans a vacation at a resort steeped in the world of the 18th century British romance writer in the movie, releasing on August 16.

Her banner is also developing adaptations of ghost stories – Lois Duncan’s “Down a Dark Hall” and Kendare Blake’s “Anna Dressed in Blood”.

Meyer, however, won’t completely rule out ever writing about “Twilight” again.

“What I would probably do is three paragraphs on my blog saying which of the characters died. I’m interested in spending time in other worlds, like Middle Earth,” she said.
