Cheryl Hines breaks silence on RFK Jr’s alleged affair

The marriage came under fire in September 2024 when reports claimed the politician and environmental activist had an “inappropriate” texting relationship with New York magazine political reporter Olivia Nuzzi. The alleged sexting scandal erupted mid-presidential campaign after it emerged that the two came close following Nuzzi’s interview with him for the 2024 election.

An internal board review found she had failed to disclose a personal connection to someone she covered. The magazine never named Kennedy, but CNN, The New York Times, and others identified him. Nuzzi later admitted some of her communication with the unnamed subject “turned personal,” but insisted it never became physical. She was placed on leave. Kennedy’s camp dismissed the reports as baseless.

Hines, meanwhile, stayed tight-lipped, even as insiders claimed she was considering divorce. At the time, one anonymous source told People the star was embarrassed and barely speaking to her husband. But in her recent interview, she appeared to brush off the rumours. “One would deduce that we love each other and are still married, and whatever we’ve been through is behind us,” she told the WSJ. Kennedy, who tagged alongside his wife during the interview, was also quizzed on the affair scandal and how it dragged her into the mess. “There is no end, and if you get caught up in responding to it, then it drags you into low vibrations,” he said. “The trick is to try to stay in the high vibrations.”

Hines and Kennedy married in 2014. Both were married before.  Over the years, Kennedy’s political decisions have fueled various controversies, including leaving the Democratic Party to join hands with Donald Trump. Other than that, he had also been embroiled in issues ranging from comparing COVID restrictions to the Holocaust to being a leading voice in the anti-vaccine movement. Cheryl hasn’t always agreed with him; she once called one of his Holocaust remarks “reprehensible and insensitive.” But recently, she’s appeared more in sync with him, questioning whether science is ever “settled.” Kennedy currently serves in the Health and Human Services after joining the Republican administration. Cheryl has been spotted alongside him at political events and even promotes his “Make America Healthy Again” push.
