‘How I Met Your Mother’ star Neil Patrick Harris says he wishes that his upcoming maiden Oscars hosting will honour the gravity of the award ceremony without getting heavy and boring. The actor has been recently announced as the host for the 87th Academy Awards in 2015.

Harris, 41, said he hopes he does a smart job like his predecessors, reported Entertainment Weekly. “I hope that I can keep it smart. I’ve always loved the Oscars and have great respect for its history and the gowns and the classiness of it,” he said.

Harris has hosted the Emmy Awards twice and the Tony Awards four times. He says he wants to do something different for the Academy Awards and does not want to be ‘super derivative of other shows’. When asked who he would want as a dream duet partner for the show, the actor said, “Gaga? Adele. That would be cool. Pink? We could do circus things.”
