Kim Sae Ron’s family demands ‘public apology’ from Kim Soo Hyun, initiate action against YouTuber

Actor Kim Yun-hoo has found himself in the center of controversy since the passing away of Kim Sae-ron

Kim Son Hyun was accused of dating Son Rae when she was still a minor.

Another development has arrived in the case regarding late actor Kim Sae Ron. The family of the deceased actor has gone ahead and issued a public statement demanding an apology from actor Kim Soo Hyun and has also announced that they will be moving forward with legal action against YouTuber Lee Jin Ho.

A press conference was conducted on Monday on the matter, headed by the lawyer of Sae Ron’s family, Bu Ji Seok; the director of the Korea Celebrity Suicide Prevention Association, Kwon Young Chan; and the head of HoverLab Inc., Kim Se Eui.

Young Chan clearly stated that the press conference marks the official start of their legal action against the Youtuber Jin Ho. The statement issued by the family states that while they wish to file the charges under murder, they cannot. However, they will be mentioning the impact of the YouTuber’s spread of false information and will be looking for the toughest possible sentence. Actor Kim Soo Hyun has also been asked to issue a sincere public apology for his actions.

Soo Hyun’s agency had sent Sae Ron a certification of contents, which is basically a document sent for claiming damages or contract termination under Korean law. After going through the document and realising that the agency is asking her to pay a fine of around 700 million Won, which is roughly around Rs 4.1 crore, the deceased tried to initiate contact with Soo Hyun and posted a picture of them together in order to get a response. After no contact, a second certification of content was sent to Sae Ron in which the agency threatened to take legal action over the photo she had posted.

YouTuber Lee Jin Ho allegedly spread false information about the Bloodhounds actor and has been deleting his old videos ever since her passing. The family has requested a cease-and-desist regarding all the videos posted by Jin Ho.

Another name that has been popping up alongside the aforementioned is that of actor Seo Ye Ji. She commented on a post that was hinting at some kind of a connection between the actor and Kim Soo Hyun. She later deleted the comment in which she had pleaded with the fans to stop making up a connection between her and Soo Hyun.

Currently Soo Hyun has been dropped by several brands, including Prada. The makers of the Korean show Good Days have also cut his scenes from the show, saying that they are “prioritising the reaction of our viewers.”
