George Clooney’s wife Amal makes rare comment on their marriage amid separation rumours: ‘I don’t feel like I have to apologise for…’
Amal Clooney opens up about George, family life, support, and work-life balance in rare interview amid rising rumours of a split.

Amal Clooney recently appeared for an interview with Glamour, accompanied by her longtime friend Charlotte Tilbury. While the conversation was meant to be on their friendship and collaboration, Amal slipped in a rare moment to gush about her husband, George Clooney. During the conversation she offered a glimpse into their family life and what it’s been like sharing a home and career with the actor. Her comments come at a time when separation rumours are rife, fueled partly by US President Donald Trump-era policies like the travel ban on International Criminal Court officials (Amal included), and later by reports suggesting the two might be exploring a trial separation, given their hectic schedules and the long-distance setup. But if her words are any indication, the couple doesn’t seem to have that kind of trouble in paradise.

Amal Clooney opens up about life with George Clooney
“I have a partner in life who is so supportive of what I do. So I don’t feel like I have to apologise for it or rein it in,” Amal said, as she stole glances at George, who kept getting in and out of the room where the interview was scheduled, offering help to the team like a caring husband. Amal recalled the time she became a mother for the first time but also had a professional commitment, and how George helped her balance it out smoothly. “And I remember when I became a mom, which was obviously a new frontier, he was the first one to say, ‘I know you’ve got this speech at the Security Council. You have to go, I’ve got the kids, don’t worry about it.’”
Subtly refuting any divorce rumour, she said, “I feel so incredibly lucky to share every day with him. And now we’re four. And I don’t take any of it for granted. I treasure the laughter and the joy that I get from just being with them.” In the later part of the interview, Amal said she remains firm about protecting their children’s privacy: “We don’t put our kids out there,” she said. No public photos, no public lives, just a private family.”
George and Amal got married in 2014 in Venice. The actor, who recently made his Broadway debut with Good Night and Good Luck, once claimed that the duo went almost a decade without a real argument. “We still haven’t found something to fight about,” he joked on CBS Mornings, calling meeting and falling in love with Amal as “hitting the jackpot” and saying he feels like “the luckiest man in the world.” The couple went on to set up the Clooney Foundation for Justice, which now provides free legal consultation to thousands of girls and women around the world battling injustice, alongside dozens of journalists who were convicted for their speech.
Amal, who herself grew up in a safe and protected environment, says it gave her tools that many girls around the world don’t have. She has built her name as one of the fiercest human rights lawyers and has fought major cases in places like Myanmar and The Hague. Apart from this, Amal is also associated with The King’s Trust, backing girls in places like Kenya, Pakistan, and India, girls surrounded by poverty, or facing forced marriage, or cut off from education.
