As a movie franchise, Star Wars has featured many iconic actors belonging to multiple generations, such as Liam Neeson, Harrsion Ford, Ewan McGregor, Natalie Portman, Samuel L Jackson and more. Actor Adam Driver joined this elite group with the Star Wars sequel trilogy where he played the character of Ben Solo or Kylo Ren. In a recent interview, the actor revealed that the fans of the series could have had the chance to watch more of his character, only if the project had not been shut down by Disney.

Ren who appeared in all three films of the aforementioned trilogy, supposedly died at the end of The Rise of Skywalker. However Driver felt that there is more to be explored when it comes to Han Solo and Leia Organa’s son, and started developing a script on his own. Adam told AP, “I always was interested in doing another Star Wars. I had been talking about doing another one since 2021. Kathleen (Kennedy) had reached out. I always said: With a great director and a great story, I’d be there in a second. I loved that character and loved playing him.”

Adam Driver wasn’t alone on this conquest, and while he only came up with a concept, the script was actually penned by none other than Steven Soderbergh. Driver said, “It was one of the coolest scripts I had ever been a part of. We presented the script to Lucasfilm. They loved the idea. They totally understood our angle and why we were doing it. We took it to Bob Iger and Alan Bergman and they said no. They didn’t see how Ben Solo was alive. And that was that.”

Driver revealed that the film was supposed to be called The Hunt for Ben Solo. Soderbergh also talked to AP about the same and said, “I really enjoyed making the movie in my head. I’m just sorry the fans won’t get to see it.”
