Lionsgate has just released the final trailer for their new action film, Flight Risk. It is all set to release in the US on January 24. Starring Mark Wahlberg, Topher Grace, and Michelle Dockery, the film has been directed by Mel Gibson. Flight Risk follows Deputy Harris (Dockery), trying to transport Winston (Grace) via a chartered flight. Winston is a government witness, and Harris is tasked with his safety. Enters Daryl (Wahlberg), posing as the pilot of this flight, but he has no intention of Winston's safe arrival to his destination. Daryl is there to kill Winston in order to prevent him from divulging any information in exchange for witness protection. Gibson, who is known for movies like Braveheart, Apocalypto, and Hacksaw Ridge, is returning to direction after quite some time. He has struggled with many controversies regarding his behaviour and beliefs. While many actors, like Winona Ryder, have come out in the open, accusing him of antisemitic comments, actors such as Andrew Garfield have supported the director, saying, "He deserves to make films." Wahlberg dawns a new balding look, which, paired with his gruesome mission and almost cruel dialogues, sends an uncomfortable chill down your spine. Whenever films work on a narrative that requires the story to take place in a single location, it is always challenging to keep your viewer hooked, because you only have so much to draw from. Gibson is known for grand narratives with large-scale sets, and it will be quite interesting to see how his directorial skills have translated into this film.
