Amidst the Oscar buzz, Bollywood actor Yami Gautam called award ceremonies 'fake', while also praising Irish actor Cillian Murphy for his resilience as he clinched his first Oscar for his lead role in Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer. Cillian also became the first Irish-born actor to win a Best Actor Oscar. In a post on X, Yami expressed her skepticism towards what she referred to as 'fake filmy awards' but she also expressed her excitement on Cillian's win.
