Netflix has released the teaser of the upcoming film titled Wild Wild Punjab. Starring Varun Sharma, Manjot Singh, Patralekhaa, Ishita Raj Sharma and Sunny Singh in pivotal roles, the short teaser explores the dark lanes of Punjab against the backdrop of heartbreak and revenge. Produced by Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg, the film will release soon on Netflix. Wild Wild Punjab will be helmed by Simarpreet Singh.
The teaser takes a wild ride as four friends seek revenge on their friend’s ex — typical Luv Ranjan territory. However, the plot takes a sudden turn, introducing chaos. What ensues is a series of mishaps, including bloodshed, fights, police encounters, gunfire, and humorous banter among friends.
The official synopsis of the film read, “A group of drunk boys decide to avenge a friend’s breakup by crashing his ex’s wedding and achieve closure. What ensues is a bold and impromptu plan for a “breakup trip” leading to unforeseen adventures in this maze of a land called — Wild Wild Punjab.”
Opening up about the upcoming film, Luv Ranjan said, “We at Luv Films endeavor to always bring laughter, joy and entertainment to audiences. With Wild Wild Punjab, we are cranking up the fun-o-meter and wildness a level higher! This film is a celebration of friendship, brotherhood and all things Punjab! We can’t wait for you to join us on this wild ride only on Netflix.”
According to reports, in 2015, Luv Ranjan had announced his first production venture with Wild Wild Punjab. However, the project was postponed after Shahid Kapoor’s Udta Punjab came out in 2016, to ‘maintain some gap between the two films’ due to their similar Punjab-based themes.
